Royal Botanic Garden

Unique venues with the gorgeous backdrop of these famous botanical gardens, close to the city centre and the train station; as you can imagine, it’s an absolute dream for weddings. The differing venues within the gardens mean you can choose the one that’s best suited to the style and size of your event; show your love for the planet and hire The John Hope Gateway; an up-to-the-minute eco building incorporating the 140 cover Gateway Restaurant; it holds 300 guests seated or 400 standing. The David Douglas Room seats up to 40 people and offers sweeping views of the gardens; it’s often used in conjunction with The Patrick Geddes Room.

For private screenings or presentations hire the Real-Life Science Studio with its projector and screen. The Caledonian Hall overlooks the colourful Rock Garden and accommodates up to 100 guests seated in theatre style or 120 standing and has the option of a marquee to increase capacity.

The John Muir Grove is an open air setting of towering trees creating a fairytale atmosphere for weddings and parties. From April to September the Marquee on the Inverleith Lawn holds 750 people for a drinks reception or 600 for banqueting, and affords a wonderful view of the Edinburgh skyline, dominated by the castle and Arthur’s Seat.

The Lecture Theatre seats 250 people and has up-to-the-minute audio-visual technology; it’s often booked in conjunction with the adjacent Conference Room which has capacity for 60 people and provides a good space for refreshments or lunch. The Board Room seats 16 and has the lovely feature of a glass wall facing onto a lush courtyard; the Board Room Annexe next door seats 20; use it on its own or for lunch or breakouts alongside a Board Room event. The Terrace Café can also be hired for evening events for 120 standing.
