The Grand Gallery and Entrance Hall have instant wow factor with sweeping staircases and a soaring glass atrium; a stunning backdrop to any event. The incredible displays of the Grand Gallery, and the vaulted arches of the Entrance Hall lend an unbeatable ambience to any social function. The Grand Gallery accommodates 1,500 guests standing or 950 seated, and the Entrance Hall 700 standing.

The Auditorium Complex couldn’t be any more perfect for conferences and presentations, seating 200 delegates in the Auditorium itself and boasting full up to the minute audio-visual equipment. The South Hall is ideal for registrations and refreshments, with a private entrance and cloakrooms, or the Events Space can be used likewise, or for exhibitions, training sessions or workshops. Both of the latter hold 200 people standing.

The Board and Bute Rooms are split over three levels and offer innovative space for all occasions. The Bute Room is a circular space seating up to 50 people, or for a standing reception for 80. Above this is the Boardroom with spectacular views over the Old Town to Edinburgh Castle; the perfect room for refined executive meetings. A Roof Terrace has breath taking panoramic views over the city - ideal for a summer reception for up to 50 guests. Hawthornden Court and Kingdom of the Scots are adjoining contemporary spaces superb for product launches and receptions for 700 guests, for dinners for 120 or presentations for up to 175.

The Early People Gallery houses an amazing collection from Scotland’s ancient past, along with 12 dramatic bronze figures that make this a very unique space for dinners for up to 120 people or receptions for 250. Treat your guests to a private view or guided tour of the galleries, with artefacts spanning the ages and exhibits from around the globe.

DDP’s are reasonably priced and events managers will work with you to ensure your function runs smoothly. The Museum works closely with well reputed suppliers so that everything from flowers and props to the most delectable catering is covered.
