The Globe

Did you know that the globe is historically the emblem of Portugal and it was depicted on the signs of pubs that sold fine Portuguese wines? When King Charles I was on the throne there were only 8 London Globe inns, but by the middle of the 19th century this number had risen to over 30! On the outside it’s splendid Rococo architecture whilst inside, the rich, warm décor is very inviting; gorgeous wood panelling, heritage colours, mismatched chairs and period style lighting combine to give an ambience of informal elegance.

There’s plenty of event space, with two separate bars and two event rooms; the Restaurant makes a great venue for a networking reception or buffet for 150 guests, for dinner for 60 or for a conference or meeting for 40. The Globe Room accommodates 120 standing, and Keats at the Globe 80, or 40 seated. The Lounge Bar can be closed off for events for 75 standing or 30 seated.

Feed your guests on that London classic of pie and mash – the Globe is a speciality Pie House so there’s plenty to choose from. If that doesn’t appeal there’s something on the menu of classic pub food to satisfy most palates, and the range of real ales and gin will impress fans of that ilk.
