Banqueting House

Banqueting House

This stunning venue, part of the Historic Royal Palaces group, was specifically designed for entertaining royalty and courtiers for drinks, parties and dinners since the early 17th century. King James the 1st commissioned the famous Indigo Jones to design a new banqueting house that was completed in 1622 and today is still an unbeatable venue.

The breath-taking Main Hall adorned with awe inspiring architectural details and containing the beautiful ceiling paintings by Peter Paul Rubens. With space for 500 standing or 380 guests seated this is an impressive corporate or social setting. The vaulted Undercroft, beneath the Main Hall, was once a spot for gambling and drinking. This atmospheric space now offers a great venue for 120 guests for dinner or 380 for a standing reception.

A super events team can help plan and execute a spectacular function. With a Kitchen on the ground floor this space is ideal for award ceremonies, product launches, concerts, charity gala dinners to name but a few. The venue is available for hire in afternoons and evenings and all-day Thursdays plus there is plenty of accommodation available close by if required.

This fabulous venue is only a 5-minute walk from Westminster and Embankment stations, and Charing Cross train station is 10-minute walk. There are car parks nearby.
