Discover Cambridge
Picture-perfect Cambridge has long been a destination for tourists, academics and visitors from all over the world. Sitting primly on the River Cam, the town is famously home to the prestigious University of Cambridge, which features grand gothic-inspired architecture across its various colleges including Trinity, King’s and St Johns.
Cambridge itself is arguably the main attraction – it is stunningly beautiful, packed with rich heritage and historic architecture. Quirky independent shops join high street favourites throughout the twisting town streets. Upmarket bars, restaurants and coffee shops offer plenty of opportunities for a bite to eat. Gently waving willow trees flank the River Cam, where students row the lengths of the calm waters. The university colleges also host exhibitions on various topics including archaeology, the history of science and zoology. Other attractions include the Fitzwilliam Museum, Ely Cathedral, Imperial War Museum and Sedgwick Museum. Live music and comedy are on offer at The Corn Exchange and Arts Theatre. Lots of tours are available – including ghost trails, heritage walks and river cruises. For high street brands head to one of its three large shopping centres - Grand Arcade, The Grafton Centre or Lion Yard.
