There are two function rooms that work very well as one – The Orangery & Cathedral Suite. It’s a delightful blank canvas for you to dress as you wish; double aspect floor to ceiling windows let the daylight flood in, doors open out onto the garden and riverside terrace so you can really make the most of that picturesque setting. As one room it seats 70 guests for dinner, 60 in boardroom or cabaret style, or it holds up to 120 for a reception. A partition can be swiftly pulled across to make two smaller rooms. The restaurant can be hired for 50-120 guests for lunch or dinner; for breakout sessions, you can step out into the garden if the weather is nice enough or hire additional syndicate rooms.

There’s free wifi in all rooms and public areas, and you’ll be well looked after by a team who are very experienced in organising events; they’ll take care of the nitty gritty - like arranging suitable AV equipment and tastebud-tantalising food whether it’s cocktails and canapes, afternoon tea or a full blown five course dinner. It’s worth checking out their delegate rates as they’re very reasonably priced, and bear in mind that the hotel works with UK team building specialists to provide several indoor and outdoor challenges designed to break the ice and foster positive dynamics within the workplace.

Guest bedrooms retain exactly the sort of character you’d expect in a place this old – thick oak beams and wooden panelling, but they have all the modern facilities you need; some open out onto the garden and overlook the riverside. Excellent food is served in the Rivers Edge Waterfront Restaurant, Bar and Terrace. The Legacy Rose & Crown has free on-site parking and Salisbury train station is within ten minutes’ drive away.
