The Mudlark

Just a leisurely amble from London Bridge and South Bank this is a one-off venue that brings you traditional pub ambience, top notch hospitality, great food and an unsurmountable selection of real ales. All you need for a happy drinks reception, corporate party, private dinner, conference, presentation or smaller meeting.

A bit of history, as these guys love it! The venue gets its name from the practice of scavenging the muddy shores of the Thames for booty that fell from passing ships, predominant in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Mudlarks were nearly always destitute children, free to work when they wanted, subject to tides – hence the saying ‘happy as a mudlark’.

The atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming; big timbers, heritage colours, wooden floors, mismatched chairs and tables; it’s a little quirky and its bang on trend. Upstairs is a big private bar that’s great for drinks receptions and parties for up to 100 people, for 85 dining, 50 in theatre style and 30 in u-shape or boardroom layout. There’s also a lovely outside area where guest can spill out at warmer times of the year.

Expect a lot of smiles and friendly service from the staff, and a tastebud tantalising menu of pub classics – fish and chips, pie and mash, and speciality sausages. For conferences and meetings, the day delegate packages offer excellent value, with the inclusion of complimentary high speed wifi, a projector and screen, flipchart, paper and pens, refreshments through the day, and a delicious buffet lunch.

London Bridge underground station is within a few minutes’ walk of The Mudlark.
