National Museum of the Royal Navy

Down at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard you can hire the National Museum of the Royal Navy for business meetings and events, drinks receptions and banquets for up to 100 guests. This 18th century building comes into its own for conferences, product launches, awards ceremonies and training and team building days and for photo shoots and filming, with impressive views of HMS Victory and the harbour.

The Museum details the fascinating story of the Royal Navy from its earliest days to the present time through captivating displays, archives and the nation’s most iconic warships. The unique collection of venues for hire provide an unforgettable setting for events of all sizes and an opportunity to give your guests a lasting experience.

There are 3 event spaces here, the biggest being the combined Victory Gallery and Princess Royal Gallery with room for receptions, buffets and dinners for 100 guests. The Victory Gallery sets out the rich history of Nelson’s flagship and has a very relaxed air; The Princess Royal Gallery, opened by HRH Princess Anne on 2014 provides a large flexible space for meetings, banquets and drinks receptions. The Nelson Gallery is a more intimate setting for up to 44 people dining, allowing them to find out all about Admiral Nelson’s life with displays that include love letters between him and Lady Hamilton. AV equipment and catering can be arranged to suit your event, there’s a bar and music licence.

The National Museum of the Royal Navy is a few minutes walk from Portsmouth Harbour train station and under 3 hours by rail from central London. There are car parks close by.
