The Athenaeum
This elegant 18th century Grade I listed building was originally designed as an Assembly Rooms for playing cards and hosting balls. Beautifully renovated, this venue is situated in the historic centre of Bury St Edmunds and offers superb function space.
There are 5 flexible function spaces including inter-linking rooms for 10 to 250 guests. There are plenty of amenities from AV equipment such as screens, projectors and Wi-Fi, as well as stationary, flip charts, sound systems and technical support on request. Suitable for a range of corporate events from small intimate business meetings, to conferences, gala dinners and presentations. The entire building can also be hired for your function.
The Athenaeum is also a top venue for Weddings, christening, private parties and Christmas celebrations. The dedicated events team can offer a range of packages and bespoke options to meeting your requirements. There is an in-house caterer Sodexo Prestige who can host events from informal buffets to fine dining and should you require accommodation there is a hotel next door and another 10 minutes’ walk.
In a great location, in the heart of the bustling old centre of Bury St Edmunds on Angel Hill. There is parking a 5-minute walk away and free parking for up to 80 cars can be arranged for corporate functions. The Bury St Edmunds train station is a 15-minute walk from the hotel.
