All aboard! The iconic and nostalgic backdrop of The National Railway Museum near York provides exciting and unique spaces for large scale receptions, conferences, team building events, dinners and smaller executive meetings.
There are six modern, well equipped meeting rooms in the multipurpose award winning conference centre, with its own separate entrance and delegate parking. Each room is aptly named after legendary locomotives, with capacities ranging from 2-140 delegates. The Duchess of Hamilton Suite encompasses 3 meeting rooms which can be used together or separately, seating 20 -140 in theatre style or 12-32 for a board meeting. The Mallard Suite can be used alone or in conjunction with the Rocket Room, comfortably accommodating 110-140 guests in theatre style or 56-88 for a workshop event. On its own, the Rocket Room is ideal for executive meetings for up to 17 delegates. The Evening Star Theatre comes into its own as a conference venue and holds 78 in theatre style. Rooms are air conditioned with ample natural daylight.
For a smaller event, The Countess of York is a beautifully restored railway carriage sitting in the museum gardens, offering a unique space to host a fine dining experience or executive meeting for up to 30 guests in two opulent carriages. The surrounding courtyard is a superb outdoor space for a barbecue or hog roast, with the Countess of York as a stunning backdrop.
If you’re thinking big, The Great Hall has capacity for a reception for up to 1,000 guests or 600 for a banquet, with the chance to get up close to some fascinating steam locomotives and railway legends; the Station Hall can accommodate functions on the same scale, allowing your guests to step back in time to a bygone era of rail travel, with a collection of iconic Royal Trains.
With competitive delegate rates, event facilities include the services of an experienced events manager, complimentary Wi-Fi, state of the art technology, projectors, plasma screens, plasma, PA systems, flipcharts and stationery, and as an added bonus, admission to the museums.
