With spaces offering state of the art technology, outstanding acoustics, adjustable lighting and ceiling heights, temperature control, a mechanical stage and even computerised flying systems, Sage Gateshead has all you need for your event. It boasts two huge, multi-purpose rooms, smaller meeting spaces, a stunning glazed concourse, adaptable foyers, and a restaurant, café and bars. The two main halls, Sage One and Sage Two seat up to 1,700 and 400 delegates respectively with hire including foyers, dressing rooms, meeting pods and front of house staff. After that we have The Barbour Room measuring 258 square metres with a capacity of 300 guests, and the Northern Rock Foundation Hall for up to 250. Go down in size again and there’s the Squires Seminar Room which seats 35 delegates in theatre style or 16 in boardroom layout. The Concourse (ground floor) level and balcony foyers are superb for dinners, award shows, exhibitions and receptions, and with room capacities varying from 3 to 70 people, there are 35 smaller spaces which can be hired separately or are great for catering or break out spaces for larger events.
On top of this, semi -permanent pavilions can be erected on site for exhibition space or for gala dinners and parties. The largest of these has an incredible 3,500 square metres of room to play with. Sage Gateshead holds a civil ceremony licence for the happy couple to take their vows in the contemporary setting of The Barbour Room with its adjoining glass balcony. Hall One is a spectacular wood-panelled auditorium boasting world-class acoustics and a seating capacity of up to 1,640. Designed to the highest international standards, its atmosphere can be altered to suit any conference or event.
Hall Two is a distinctive ten-sided theatre designed to complement the larger Hall One. This Hall offers a more informal and intimate environment which makes it ideal for presentations, discussions and conferences. Hire of Hall Two includes staff to marshal each door; a basic conference sound system; a duty technician; four dressing rooms; and one large foyer area, suitable for catering or exhibition space.
The primary function room for conferences, events and banquets. It has its own glass balcony and toilet facilities that together offer a self-contained area ideally suited to private and corporate events. Hire of the room includes set up with tables and chairs as requested and staff to marshal the doors.
All offer exceptional views across the Tyne to the Newcastle cityscape and can be hired individually for events, exhibitions and private drinks receptions. They also make ideal areas for catering or refreshment breaks during conferences or meetings. These spaces will each hold up to 250 people standing.
A stunning wood-panelled hall situated in the centre of the building. It is the rehearsal space for our orchestra, Northern Sinfonia, and is sound isolated. The Hall also has a flown lighting rig for lighting and sound and for ease of flying screens and banners. Hire includes room set up with tables and chairs as requested and staff to marshal the doors.
The Music Education Centre (MEC) comprises twenty six rooms; intriguing in their variety of shape and size, these are available for hire on an individual basis or as breakout rooms for larger conferences. As room capacities vary from three to seventy delegates, they provide a versatile range of rooms suitable for all requirements.
Seminar Room situated on the ground floor level of the building. It has fixed AV equipment (projector, screen etc), making it ideal for smaller presentations and meetings, or for an office, speakers room or storage area for larger conferences
Our capacity ranges from 1,700 delegates in Hall One, to 20 delegates in The Seminar Room. There is, without question, a space for everyone. We have 3,500m2 of exhibition space at your disposal.
