Essex Cricket Conference and Events is right in the heart of Chelmsford and whether you’re a cricket fan or not, this is a fantastic venue for private celebrations, summer and Christmas parties, and for all manner of business meetings and events from conferences, awards presentations, training days and product launches to syndicate and board meetings, interviews and corporate hospitality.

Let’s look at those rooms, starting with the biggest. Overlooking the pitch, the Woodland Group Pavilion Marquee can be hired from April to September and is spot on for summer parties and drinks receptions for 180 people. It seats the same number in theatre style, and 140 for dinner. The Scrutton Bland Premier Suite has its own bar and doors that open onto a pitch side terrace; it accommodates 180 folk for a reception, 130 for dinner or in theatre style, and 35 in boardroom arrangement.

The Doug Insole Pavilion also has its own bar and pitch views; hire it for parties or receptions for 150 guests, theatre style events and dinners for 100, and for board meetings for 30. The Committee Room on the first floor has a private balcony and a birds eye view of the pitch; it holds 15 delegates in boardroom, cabaret, and theatre style, or for private dining. The pitch side Executive Boxes seat a maximum of 25 in theatre style, or 20 for lunch or dinner.
