Central Hall - York Conferences and Events

Just 2 miles from York City Centre, with a commanding lakeside setting at the heart of the University of York campus, Central Hall has capacity for 1,028 delegates, offering a fantastic venue for larger business meetings and events. This hall has all you need for a conference, product launch, AGM, awards ceremony or concert.

With its striking design, Central Hall is a well renowned landmark building, an architectural masterpiece built in 1966-68 and designed by John Speight. This purpose-built lecture theatre has tiered auditorium seating and can be used alongside the Exhibition Centre which offers 900 sqm of space. It has state-of-the-art projection and AV technology, superfast Wi-Fi, and a professional lighting and rig sound system, as well as a loading dock, backstage/green room area with dressing rooms, and cloakrooms.

The campus' award-winning catering team will work with you to provide bespoke menus, and overnight delegates can be accommodated during the summer months, with over 900 bedrooms available. There are 10 restaurants and cafes onsite.

The campus is accessible form major routes and there is ample pay and display onsite. York railway station is 15 minutes by car, the nearest airport is Leeds Bradford Airport, 25 miles away.
