Blacks Club

Blacks Club is the last original townhouse in Soho, built in 1732 and still full of rich Georgian character. What a splendid setting for business meetings and events! With a full capacity for 100 guests, this makes a wonderful backdrop for awards ceremonies, exhibitions, conferences, product launches, team building and training days, and of course, drinks receptions, private dining, and parties. This beautiful Grade II listed building is also a beautiful setting for wildly romantic weddings, photo shoots and filming.

Yes, Blacks is a private members club, but think privately inclusive rather than privately exclusive and you get an insight into what to expect when you hire a space here – it feels exclusive, that’s the thing, somewhere away from the world where you’ll find things to be a little quirky.

There are 4 spaces for hire – the largest is the Second Floor Bar which holds 50, next in size is the First Floor Bar for 40, and then there are the Ground Floor Bar and The Den, which both have room for 30 people. If none of those are quite big enough, hire the whole house, then there’ll be room for 100 standing, 40 in theatre style, and 20 in boardroom arrangement and dining.

Blacks is just a few minutes saunter from Dean Street tube station. There’s AV equipment, wifi, bespoke menus and exquisite cocktails. Worth a peek are the Day Delegate Rates.

A little history: Blacks was built by John Meard Jr, apprentice to Sir Christopher Wren; the house was also once home to Charles Fortnum of Fortnum & Mason.
