First up is The Understudy, holding 300, available for exclusive or part hire; inside this riverside pub chic industrial interiors add to the relaxed vibe, outside there's a huge terrace. The rooftop Buffini Chao Deck is a flexible event space with a wrap around terrace and panoramic views over London; it holds 200 for drinks, 120 theatre style, 100 dining and 30 in boardroom layout.

The Lasdun Restaurant brings you contemporary elegance for 200 standing or 100 seated; hire on an exclusive basis for dinners or cocktails, or opt for the private dining room – great for wine tastings and client dinners for up to 12. On the top floor The Foyle Room can host 35 standing or 20 seated; floor to ceiling windows give optimum views of the river and city skyline.

A dedicated events team will ensure everything goes to plan, from superfast Wi-Fi and state-of-the-art AV technology to live entertainment, and food and drink of your choice from creative in-house caterers.

The National Theatre is easily accessed by train, tube or Uber boat, and is just a short saunter from Waterloo Station.
