Northampton
Northampton, home of the British Footwear trade is an increasingly popular location with lots to offer. Situated roughly halfway between two major cities – Birmingham and London – Northampton’s location is its primary positive. It lies on the banks of the River Nene, a sprawling and exciting city filled with a diverse variety of activities to enjoy and sights to see.
Whether you’re planning a training day, party or team building exercise, there’s plenty to do in and around the town’s perimeters. For the shopping enthusiast there is The Grosvenor Centre and St James’ Retail park as well as the famous old Market Square with its stalls of local produce.
If you’re looking for a holistic location with plenty of additional activities on offer, there’s no shortage of things to do. Just outside the centre is Sixfields Stadium, home to Northampton Football Club, and the surrounding area also features the beautiful Barnes Meadow Nature Reserve, stunning Sywell Country Park and the Northampton and Lamport Railway. Northampton town centre is equally as eventful - Northampton Guildhall, Cultural Quarter and the house at 78 Derngate (notably once home to artist Rennie Mackintosh) steal the show.
Northampton can easily be reached by road or rail – and its close proximity both to Birmingham and London makes it an attractive prospect for companies and individuals in these locations. At Big Venue Book we’ve put together a special selection of some of the city’s best venues – for corporate events, parties, weddings and more. Our list includes the historic Sedgebrook Hall, graceful Kelmarsh Hall and Gardens and last but not least the iconic Silverstone – the home of Formula One in the UK.
